Maths teacher

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a small Secondary academy in Bury who are currently looking for a Maths teacher to start immediately. Due to a member of staff going on maternity leave, our client academy requires a member of staff to join the Maths department as soon as possible until the end of the academic year.

  • Full time Maths teacher position available.
  • ASAP start until the end of the academic year 2020.
  • Teaching a full timetable across all age groups from Year 7 up to Year 11.
  • Taking on full planning and marking responsibilities.
  • Supporting pupils at varying levels of learning abilities including children with learning difficulties.
  • Supporting pupils who are known to display challenging behaviour.
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490 per annum).

Our client academy is looking for a dynamic and passionate Maths teacher who has experience supporting pupils with behavioural difficulties. Many of these pupils require additional support, due to their challenging behaviour, in order to raise their overall attainment.

The incoming Mathematics teacher will be required to:

  • Deliver pupil centred lessons throughout the creation of comprehensive lesson plans.
  • Incorporate various methods of teaching to ensure pupils are actively engaged and understand the materials clearly.
  • Collaborate with senior teachers in order to establish new activities to boost students’ attainment and allocate resources correctly.
  • Promote positive behaviour management and support pupils with challenging behaviour.

Application Requirements

  • Must hold QTS alongside subject specific qualifications within Mathematics.
  • Have previous experience teaching Maths within a Secondary school.
  • Be comfortable supporting pupils who can display challenging behaviour.

Our client Academy is based in Bury and is accessible via both the M66 and A58 from areas such as Bolton, central Manchester and Bury. For non-driver s, the school is also accessible by public transport with direct links from the surrounding areas of Greater Manchester.
