Maths Intervention Specialist – Secondary School (Tameside)

Location: Denton, Tameside
Start Date: Immediate or after Easter
Contract: Part-time or full-time options available

A secondary school in Denton is looking for a Maths Intervention Specialist to join their team and work with students who need additional support in Maths. This role is perfect for a graduate or experienced tutor with a passion for supporting students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Targeted Support: Provide Maths intervention to KS3 and KS4 students, helping them to close gaps in knowledge and boost their confidence in the subject.

• Small Group Sessions: Deliver tailored lessons to groups of students who require extra help in grasping mathematical concepts.

• Progress Tracking: Regularly assess the progress of students, provide feedback to teachers, and adjust interventions as necessary.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the Maths department and other specialists to ensure consistent support for all students.

• Exam Preparation: Support students in preparation for GCSE exams by focusing on key areas of weakness and reinforcing exam techniques.

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualifications: A strong Maths background (ideally to A-Level or degree level).

• Experience: Previous experience tutoring or supporting students in Maths is highly desirable.

• Skills: Strong communication skills, the ability to explain concepts clearly, and the capability to inspire students.

• Personality: Motivated, empathetic, and flexible, with a passion for supporting students to succeed in Maths.
