Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent)
Salary: £89 – £110 per day (PAYE), depending on experience

The Role

Teaching Personnel is supporting a thriving secondary school in Tameside that is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team immediately. As an LSA, you will work closely with students who require additional support to enhance their learning experience, particularly in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.

You will:

• Provide tailored support to students with varying learning needs, ensuring they are fully engaged in lessons and achieve their potential.

• Assist with behaviour management, helping students to develop positive learning habits and follow the school’s behavioural expectations.

• Work alongside the class teacher, providing 1:1 and small group support, particularly in English, Maths, and Science.

• Support students with SEN needs, including those with dyslexia, autism, or other specific learning difficulties, ensuring they have access to an inclusive education.

• Contribute to monitoring and reporting on students’ progress, working with the teaching staff and SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to identify and address individual needs.

• Support the emotional and social development of students, helping them to build confidence and independence in their learning.

You Will Need

• Experience working with children, ideally in a secondary school environment, although candidates with experience in other educational settings are welcome to apply.

• A passion for supporting students with SEN and a commitment to helping all students achieve their potential.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

• Patience and empathy, with a proactive approach to supporting students in their learning.

• A current DBS check on the Update Service or the willingness to apply for one.

• Two professional references covering the last 2 years of employment or education.
