Maths Graduate

Are you a Maths Graduate looking for work within a Secondary school prior to completing a teacher training course in the future?

If so, then Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to appoint a Maths graduate to work within the Maths department of a high achieving, forward thinking Secondary school in Wigan.

This is a great opportunity where you will be able to gain experience, develop key skills and be able to put them into practice, all of which will contribute to you becoming an outstanding teacher of the future.

  • Maths Graduate required for September 2018
  • 12 month temporary position starting in the new academic year
  • Opportunity to work in a supportive Maths department
  • Located in Wigan, the school is accessible via the A580 (East Lancashire Road)
  • You can expect to earn between £1000-£1200

If successful, you will be employed on a temporary basis for 12 months. You will be working in a supportive capacity within the schools Maths department, developing key skills that will help your future development as an aspiring teacher. You will have termly meetings with senior members of staff where you can review your progress and set targets or areas that you can work to improve on.

What does the role involve?

  • Supporting the learning of students who require additional guidance during Maths lessons
  • Working closely with teaching staff in the Maths department (Planning and preparing lessons and providing support to the class teacher during class)
  • Working with small groups of identified pupils to raise attainment in Maths

Our client Secondary school is larger than the average Secondary school with just over a 1000 pupils currently on roll. In their most recent Ofsted report, the school were graded 'Good' across the board and have since highlighted that they would like to push for 'Outstanding' in the future. Located in Leigh, Wigan the school can be easily accessed from surrounding areas Salford, Warrington, Wigan and Bolton.
