Job description

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics teacher who is passionate about creating outstanding learning experiences for SEMH students within a mainstream secondary school. This is an opportunity to make a real difference—using your skills and creativity to inspire success, broaden opportunities, and help every child in this school in East Bristol.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Maths in small groups or 1:1 settings.
  • Provide pre-teaching and reinforcement to build confidence and understanding.
  • Work with students unable to access mainstream lessons, including those with emotional-based school avoidance.
  • Aim to reintegrate learners into mainstream education where possible.
  • Support pupils through to sitting their GCSE exams, even if delivery continues throughout KS4.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified & experienced – a teacher with a strong background in teaching Maths up to KS4.
  • Skilled in curriculum delivery – able to consistently plan and deliver high-quality lessons across key stages.
  • Inclusive & adaptive – capable of meeting the needs of diverse learners, including pupil premium, looked after children, SEND, and high-attaining students.
  • A strong communicator – able to motivate, embrace change, and foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Committed to enrichment – willing to go beyond the classroom, offering opportunities that enhance student experience and personal growth.
  • Focused on professional growth – eager to develop your own practice while supporting and empowering others.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
