Do you have experience of working with young people that require extra support in Mathematics? Are you looking for a new role starting in September 2019?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a large Secondary School in the Northumberland area to recruit an experienced Mathematics Intervention Teacher.

  • Full-time role available from September 2019
  • 5 days per week
  • Supporting students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis who require extra support with Mathematics
  • Earn up to £600 per week, dependent on experience
  • Opportunity to work in a 'Good' Ofsted graded school

Working as a Mathematics Intervention teacher, you will be:

  • Working alongside senior class teachers supporting students aged 11-16
  • Supporting students who require extra support with Mathematics
  • Expected to incorporate inventions to aid the student's attainment with the hopes of raising their progress and increasing their grades
  • Assisting students in small groups and occasionally on a 1:1 basis when they are withdrawn from various subject to attend intervention sessions that the prospective candidate should be able to plan and deliver

To be considered for this Mathematics Intervention Teacher role it is required that you have previous experience of working with individuals who have required interventions as these skills will be highly transferrable. With over 600 pupils, the school is in need of extra staff to guarantee particular students are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom.

As a Mathematics Intervention Teacher within our client school, responsibilities will include working with small groups and on a 1:1 basis with students that require additional support due to low attainment grades. Further responsibilities incorporate supporting the class teacher and delivering intervention sessions to suit particular students.

Our client school is based in Northumberland and can be accessed via the A1 and other main roads from surrounding areas for those who have their own transportation. For non-drivers, there are several forms of public transport with links to Newcastle and North Tyneside.
