Job description

Maths Tutor – Alternative Provision 
Location: Bedlington and surrounding areas
Pay: £25–£35 per hour (via PAYE)

TP Tutors is looking for passionate and dedicated Maths Tutors to support students receiving Alternative Provision across Bedlington and surrounding areas. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver one-to-one tuition in homes, schools, or local community hubs—helping learners gain confidence, strengthen their maths skills, and reach their full potential.

Your Role:

  • Deliver personalised Maths tuition sessions tailored to each student’s needs and learning style.

  • Support pupils with exam preparation, homework, and building overall maths competency.

  • Adapt your teaching methods to suit varying levels of ability and understanding.

  • Record and monitor student progress using TP Tutors’ cloud-based reporting system.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Maths (Key Stage 3 and/or 4).

  • Previous experience tutoring or teaching students outside mainstream settings or with additional needs.

  • Patience, adaptability, and the ability to simplify complex topics.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive student relationships.

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in Maths or equivalent tutoring/teaching experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
