Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with specialist SEN school based in Stoke-on-Trent who are currently looking for a Level 5 SEN Support Assistant. The school are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where all students feel valued and supported. Working closely with external agencies, families and carers, the school takes on a collaborative and proactive approach delivering high quality learning experiences.

About the role:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Level 5 SEN Support Assistant to work with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties.

You will play a key role in:

  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis
  • Delivering targeted interventions and differentiated learning activities
  • Assisting with EHCP planning and reviews
  • Working closely with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Promoting independence, inclusion, and confidence in all learners

Requirements:

  • Level 5 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent SEN-related qualification
  • Proven experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of EHCP processes and strategies for supporting a range of additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
