Level 2 SEND Support Assistant

Location: Tameside

Job Type: Full-time, 8.15am-3.30pm (long-term opportunity)

Salary: £13.75- £14.50 per hour

Start date: w/c 20th October 2025


 A warm, inclusive primary school in the Tameside area are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work as part of our Inclusion Team as a SEND Support Teaching Assistant. The role is initially temporary but has great opportunities to become long-term, due to the needs and demands of the new cohort of children. The Senior Leadership Team have asked for the for the successful applicant to start the w/c 20th October, this is to help settle in before the half-term break.

What We’re Looking for as part of this role:

  • Passionate about inclusion and keen to become a champion for children with additional needs
  • Can work as part of an Inclusion Team and provide essential support and intervention for a range of children
  • Can work with class teachers in order to support teaching and learning
  • Can work with a range of pupils in a Resource Provision classroom and ensure personalised targets are met in line with guidance from professionals and EHCP documents.
  • Can work in mainstream classes across key stage one and two to support individual pupils with additional needs
  • Can support pupils outside of the classroom to deliver, monitor and evaluate the success of interventions
  • Can enthuse, motivate and engage children in all areas of learning
  • Has excellent communication skills and is committed to building positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
  • Is able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Will be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
