Location: Tameside

Job Type: Full-time, 8.15am-3.30pm (long-term opportunity)

Salary: £13.75- £14.50 per hour

Start date: Monday 29th September

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a passionate Level 2 Support Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs. A warm, inclusive primary school in the Tameside area are currently looking to recruit a committed and skilled individual for the position of Level 2 SEND Support Assistant. The senior leadership team have said the year group will be dependent on experience as the needs of the pupils vary. The role is initially temporary but has great opportunities to become long-term, due to the needs and demands within the school.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, encouraging positive behaviour.
  • Work under the guidance of the Class Teacher and SENCO to support learning activities and help create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with delivering learning tasks and supporting pupils during lessons. This may be in a small group or on a one-to-one basis as directed by the teacher.
  • Help monitor and provide feedback on pupil progress to the teacher.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant Level 2 qualification.
  • Experience working with SEND, whether professional or personal experience.
  • A calm, patient, and caring approach with good communication skills.
  • Flexibility and resilience to meet pupils’ varying and changing needs throughout the school day.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
