Primary Learning Support Mentor, ASAP Start
A Primary school we work closely with at Teaching Personnel are looking for a full-time Learning Support mentor to start a soon as possible (latest after February half-term) in the LS9 area of central Leeds. The upcoming position will be working with pupils across the school on a 1-2-1 basis assisting with accelerating pupil progress, as well as small groups of pupils to help raise pupil attainment across the school. Candidates applying for this role must have experience in this role previously in a school based setting and must be available to interview as soon as possible.
Rated as GOOD by Ofsted, this school is located within the LS9 postcode of Leeds and is close to the city centre and public transport such as; buses and train services. This primary school are looking for enthusiastic and supportive Learning support mentor who can help raise pupil attainment in core subjects across the Primary age range in; Reading, Writing and Maths. The friendly primary team are looking for a confident and experienced Mentor who will help enhance the schools ethos, values, expectations and beliefs.
Teaching Personnel works closely with Leeds Trinity University which provides our candidates with the knowledge and skills they need to develop both personally and professionally as a teaching assistant. Opportunities and key skills courses run all year round for candidates to name a few; Literacy and Mathematical Development across the Curriculum, Planning and questioning for progression, Early Reading and Phonics and Effective Behaviour management! - Candidates must be available school hours, full-time and able to start ASAP or after February half-term (24th February)
- Candidates must have previous experience as a Learning Support Mentor in a school based environment
- Candidates must have a positive attitude and have experience working with young people in a primary education environment
- Candidates must be enthusiastic and confident when working with primary school aged children of all levels and abilities
- Candidates need to be open to trial days and providing one-to-one support for pupils of lower abilities or pupils with SEN
- Candidates must have an up to date CV and 2 references which are educational based
