Do you have experience working with college level students?

Are you looking for a Learning Support role?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a college in Bury, aiding them in recruiting a new Learning Support Assistant for an immediate start.

Our client college has recognised a staffing gap for a Learning Support Assistant, due to an unexpected increase in the amount of pupils requiring additional support this academic year. Therefore, our partner college are in need of extra staff to guarantee these students are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom.

  • Full-time Learning Support role available for an immediate start until the Christmas break, with the possibility of an extension depending on success.
  • Supporting students aged 16-18, ranging in levels of learning ability.
  • Earn up to £350 per week, depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to work in a large college in Bury to broaden your experience.

Application Requirements

  • Must have previous experience with college level students.
  • Our client college would also prefer the successful candidate to have experience with supporting students who have learning difficulties.
  • Must be Level 3 qualified or have obtained a degree of any specialism.

The successful Learning Mentor will have a number of roles and responsibilities including:

  • Providing additional support for a small group of students in a variety of subjects such as English and Maths.
  • Working alongside the class teacher supporting students aged 16-18.
  • Monitoring pupils' progress and reporting back to senior teachers.
  • Planning and delivering intervention sessions to aid pupils' development.
  • Supporting students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.

Our client college is based in Bury and can be accessed via the M66 and A580 from surrounding areas of Greater Manchester for those who have their own transportation. For non-drivers, there are several forms of public transport with links to areas such as Bolton, Salford and central Manchester.
