Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a unique alternative provision in the Nottinghamshire area of NG9. This provision is working to support extremely vulnerable children with extremely challenging behaviour from the age of 11 to 18, from a variety of backgrounds. 

In particular the provision is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to begin a role asap. The new staff member will be required to work along side pupils and support with a variety subjects, including English, Science, Maths, P:E, Art and many more. The role not only requires working 1:1 with pupils on their personal timetable and following person lesson plans, however also completing paperwork on a daily bases.

The Learning Support Staff will need:

  • Experience of working with extremely vulnerable pupils
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour in a nurturing manner
  • Experience working in a school or residential setting with children who have Special Educational Needs (experience working with SLD, complex needs, Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties are areas of particular interest)
  • Training in MAPA or Team Teach is ideal but not essential
  • Experience of supporting pupils up until GCSE and A-Level
  • DBS on the online update service
