Learning Support Assistant, Lawrence Weston/Avonmouth/Henbury

Pay rate £60.00 - 70.00 per day

Full time Monday to Friday 8.30 - 3.30 pm

Teaching Personnel, Bristol are looking for Learning Support Assistants, ideally with a Team Teach Qualification to support a large, diverse and above average sized special school that operates over a number of sites in the heart of Bristol. The school has a number of key partners whom all work collectively to be the best provision they can.

The school caters for children and young people with a wide range of needs, including Asperger's and Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties and complex needs and all of the pupils enrol have a statement of special educational needs.

To be suitable for the position you will require the following key skills:

  • A good understanding of Special Educational Needs
  • Recent experience working on a 1:1 basis and in a small group basis in particular with pupils with complex learning difficulties
  • Posses a minimum level 2 qualification or above
  • Be committed and dedicated in the learning and development of children
  • Have a nurturing character
  • Current Team Teach Certificate (NOT ESSENTIAL)

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant you will follow the schools values which are valuing children as individuals and aim to provide a holistic approach to the child's learning and care. The school offers a 'Team around the child' approach who work in co-ordinated way and in partnership with the school to ensure that the holistic needs of all pupils are supported.
