Learning Support Assistant

Date posted : 01/10/18
£55 - £65 per day + Negotiable

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Due to an upcoming need in our client schools support department, there is a need for a learning support assistant to join them from January, covering an extended absence for a full academic term initially.

  • Working with students behind their expected levels in literacy and numeracy
  • Supporting SEND students during lessons who may be struggling to fully access the curriculum
  • Invaluable experience for recent graduates looking to progress in a career in education
  • Work in a secondary school in your local area prior to teacher training
  • Earn in line with your experience level (£50 - £65 per day)

Situated on the Oldham and Manchester border, our client school is a large, modern secondary which moved in to a purpose built site in recent years. The school serves a rich and diverse catchment area, with the large majority of students enrol from the local community, providing a harmonious learning environment for students and staff alike. Since moving to the new site, students and staff have been able to benefit from state of the art learning technology and interactive learning spaces have encouraged students to participate in learning, both during lessons and in extra-curricular activities. A strong climate for learning across all year groups has paid dividends with results at GCSE climbing year on year.

During the position as a learning support assistant at our client school, you will be required to work with individual and small groups of students to enable them to succeed in their studies whilst at school. This will involve providing classroom support to teaching staff, and ensuring learning is focussed and students are engaged. There will be an opportunity for the successful learning support assistant to lead booster and revision sessions for small groups.

If you would like to be taken into consideration for this January position as a learning support assistant, then please follow the link below.
