Job description

Learning Support Assistants needed in Surrey

Locations: Camberley, Farnham, Woking, Guildford, Godalming and surrounding areas

Salary: £83 - £90 per day

Working pattern: Flexible, 8:30am - 3:30pm average hours (adhoc, part time and full time considered)

 

We are currently looking for fantastic Learning Support Assistants to support within our Primary, Secondary, SEN and SEMH schools and alternative provisions across Surrey. Learning Support Assistants will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in delivering the learning, adapting tasks to individual children's preferred learning styles and abilities, aiding with behaviour management within the classroom and around the school by following behaviour policies and individual behaviour plans, helping to keep children safe through rigorously following safeguarding procedures, as well as other responsibilities. Typical working hours can be expected to be 8:30am - 3:30pm, however this may vary across settings.

 

The ideal Learning Support Assistant will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Previous experience working with children (preferable but not essential)
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with SEN/SEMH needs (preferable but not essential)
  • Driving licence and access to a car (preferable but not essential)
  • Calm, caring and supportive nature
  • Understanding of different Special Educational Needs and how to support children with additional needs
  • Ability to work individually and use initiative to support within the class
  • Ability to work as a team and collaborate with class teachers and support staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
