Location: Tameside OL6

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: £13.75-£14.50 per hour

Start date: Monday 10th November 2025

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in children's lives?
A welcoming and ambitious primary school in the Tameside area is currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their cheerful and supportive team. The ideal candidate will be a confident classroom practitioner with a genuine passion for nurturing lifelong learners. The specific year group assignment will be based on experience, as pupil needs vary across the school. This is a temporary position initially, with strong potential to become long-term due to ongoing demand and evolving needs within the school.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Foster positive relationships with pupils with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities, promoting behaviour and engagement that meets school expectations.
  • Support learning activities under the direction of the Class Teacher and wider staff team, helping to create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Assist in the delivery of learning tasks, providing support to pupils during lessons either in small groups or one-to-one, as guided by the teacher.
  • Help observe and track pupil progress, offering feedback to the teacher to inform planning and support strategies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong skills in both Maths and English.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships between school, home, and the wider community.
  • Solid understanding of how to support pupil inclusion effectively.
  • A collaborative team player who understands classroom roles and responsibilities.
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting, supporting teaching and learning activities for groups or whole classes under the guidance of the class teacher.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
