Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work with children in EYFS and KS1 within the Tameside area.

This role is ideal for someone committed to making a real impact in early education and eager to play a vital role in pupils’ development and learning journey.

A friendly and nurturing primary school located in the Tameside area (SK13) is looking for a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant. This position focuses on providing stimulating and meaningful learning opportunities to children in Early Years and Key Stage 1. Initially offered as a temporary role, there is strong potential for it to extend into a long-term position to support the development of pupils in the current cohorts.

Location: Tameside SK13

Job Type: Full-time, 8.30am-3.30pm (long-term opportunity)

Salary: £13.75- £14.50 per hour

Start date: Monday 13th October 2025

What Does the Role Entail?:

  • Collaborate closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO to develop and adjust learning approaches, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils.
  • Assist the Class Teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons and activities.
  • Independently lead targeted small group or one-to-one sessions to reinforce understanding and support pupil progress.
  • Contribute to planning, assessing, and documenting pupil progress alongside the teaching staff.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Class Teacher throughout the school day by monitoring pupils’ development and offering constructive feedback.
  • Work with children individually or in small groups during Continuous Provision and when delivering the KS1 National Curriculum and phonics.
  • Promote and uphold the school’s values and consistently apply relevant policies, including behaviour management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 3 Certificate in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
  • Proven experience supporting pupils in a classroom or small group environment.
  • Demonstrates a calm, compassionate, and reliable manner, with strong communication abilities.
  • Shows resilience and flexibility to respond effectively to the evolving needs of children during the school day.
  • Holds a current DBS check registered with the Update Service or is willing to undergo the necessary clearance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
