Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about inspiring young learners and supporting their educational journey?
Teaching Personnel is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work with pupils across the Tameside area. This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on children's academic development and self-confidence. Initially offered on a short-term basis, the position has strong potential for extension for candidates who demonstrate their value within the school community and contribute positively to student progress. The schools haven’t stated the year group as they will fit the appropriate candidate where convenient in their school.

Location: Tameside

Job Type: Full-time, 8.30am-3.30pm (long-term opportunity)

Salary: £13.75- £14.50 per hour

Start date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to enhance teaching strategies and create an inclusive, supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Assist in delivering engaging, curriculum-based lessons by reinforcing key concepts and supporting pupils during class activities.
  • Lead targeted one-to-one or small group interventions to strengthen understanding and promote academic progress.
  • Contribute to lesson planning by suggesting learning activities, monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records in line with school policies.
  • Encourage positive behaviour by upholding the school’s behaviour policy and promoting respectful, constructive choices.
  • Uphold the school’s values and consistently follow all policies and procedures, with particular attention to safeguarding and child protection.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Holds a relevant qualification, such as a Level 3 Certificate in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Has experience working with pupils in classroom settings or small group environments.
  • Displays a calm, compassionate, and dependable approach, with excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrates resilience and adaptability to meet the changing needs of pupils throughout the school day.
  • Hold a DBS registered on the Update Service or is willing to complete the necessary checks.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
