Level 3 – KS1 Teaching Assistant

Full-time | 8.30-3.30 | Immediate Start | Tameside SK15

An opportunity has arisen through Teaching Personnel for a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 1 pupils. This position suits an individual passionate about making a genuine difference in children's academic journeys, playing a crucial part in their progress and confidence building.

Welcoming and supportive primary schools in the SK15 area are seeking a committed and skilled practitioner. The main focus will be to deliver engaging and purposeful educational experiences for learners in KS1. Starting on a half-termly basis, there is a strong likelihood of extension for an educator who proves to be a valuable asset to the school community and student growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the classroom teacher and SEND coordinator to refine strategies, fostering a supportive and accessible atmosphere for every learner.
  • Support children’s knowledge during lessons by helping implement dynamic, curriculum-aligned learning experiences, led by the class teacher.
  • Lead 1:1 or small group interventions to boost comprehension and understanding of learning and development of the KS1 curriculum.
  • Support with learning ideas, tracking outcomes, and recording student achievements in coordination with school policies.
  • Create a positive learning environment by following school behaviour policies and supporting positive behaviour choices.
  • Model the school’s ethos and consistently follow policies and procedures, particularly those related to safeguarding children.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 3 Certificate in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
  • Proven experience supporting pupils in a classroom or small group environment.
  • Demonstrates a calm, compassionate, and reliable manner, with strong communication abilities.
  • Shows resilience and flexibility to respond effectively to the evolving needs of children during the school day.
  • Holds a current DBS check registered with the Update Service or is willing to undergo the necessary clearance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
