Learning Support Assistant
Location: Southampton

Pay: £13.75 per hour

Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work in primary schools across the Southampton area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children during a key stage of their educational development.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Working one-to-one or in small groups to help pupils engage with the curriculum

  • Assisting class teachers with learning activities and behaviour management

  • Providing emotional and social support to encourage confidence and independence

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience working with children (school-based experience is desirable but not essential)

  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • A genuine interest in supporting young learners and pupils with SEN

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
