Early Years Learning Support Assistant – SEN Primary Schools

Location: Southampton
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Hours: Full-time or Part-time
Start Date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Early Years Learning Support Assistants to work in SEN primary schools across Southampton. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children with additional needs at a crucial stage of their development.

The Role

As an Early Years Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support children in Early Years settings (EYFS) with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Assist the class teacher with play-based learning and early development activities

  • Support children’s communication, social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

  • Support children with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH

Requirements

  • Experience working with young children (Early Years, SEN, nursery, or care settings preferred)

  • A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach

  • A genuine interest in Early Years development and SEN support

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
