Learning Support Assistant – Primary SEN

Location: Southampton
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Agency: Teaching Personnel
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Flexible – Full-time or Part-time

About the Role

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work in primary SEN schools across Southampton. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children with additional needs in a nurturing and structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to primary-aged pupils with SEN

  • Support children with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social or emotional needs

  • Assist the class teacher with classroom activities and daily routines

  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Requirements

  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with children

  • Experience with children or SEN is desirable but not essential

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexibility to work full-time or part-time

  • Willingness to complete safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS
