Learning Support Assistant

Location: Southampton
Setting: Secondary SEN Schools
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Hours: Full-time or Part-time

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work in secondary SEN schools across Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young people with special educational needs and make a real difference in their education.

The Role:

  • Supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Working 1:1 or in small groups to help students access the curriculum

  • Assisting teachers with classroom management and lesson delivery

  • Providing emotional, behavioural, and academic support

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable but not essential)

  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
