Job description

Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEND School | Brighton & Hove

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in the Brighton & Hove area. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

This rewarding role involves supporting primary and secondary-aged pupils with additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD, on both a 1:1 basis and within small groups.

The Role:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND throughout the school day

  • Work closely with teaching staff to help students achieve their individual goals

  • Support pupils both academically and socially

  • Remain calm, patient, and proactive when managing challenging behaviours

  • Build positive relationships and create a safe, supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience supporting children or young people with ASC and/or ADHD

  • Is passionate about working within SEND education

  • Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach

  • Can work effectively as part of a team

  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS

Position Details:
Location: Brighton & Hove
Travel: Easily accessible by bus or car
Pay: £360 – £460 per week
Contract: Temp-to-Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
✅ DBS: Enhanced Child Workforce DBS required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
