Child Mentor – Brighton & Hove | Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a supportive and inclusive school in the Brighton & Hove area that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Child Mentor to join their team. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
As a Child Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils who require additional guidance both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and positive behaviours that enable them to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
The Role:

Provide tailored mentoring support to pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis

Act as a positive role model, building strong and trusting relationships with students

Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

Encourage positive engagement in learning and school life

Help students develop self-confidence, independence, and emotional regulation skills

Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Has experience working with children or young people in an educational, mentoring, coaching, or support setting
-
Is a strong role model who can inspire and motivate young people
-
Demonstrates patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills
-
Has experience supporting pupils with additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural challenges
-
Is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people
Position Details:
Location: Brighton & Hove
Travel: Accessible by bus and car
Pay: £360 – £460 per week
Contract: Temp-to-Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
✅ DBS: Enhanced Child Workforce DBS required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
