Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist SEND school in Brighton that is seeking dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to join their team from September.
This rewarding role will involve supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential through tailored support and specialist intervention.
We are looking for compassionate individuals who are passionate about SEND education and can remain calm, patient and professional in challenging situations.
The Role:

Supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
-
Working across both primary and secondary age groups
-
Providing 1:1 and small-group support within the classroom
-
Assisting with learning activities tailored to individual needs
-
Supporting pupils' communication, social and emotional development
-
Helping to create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment
-
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff
We Are Looking For:
✔ Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly PMLD
✔ Confidence working with both primary and secondary-aged pupils
✔ A calm, patient and resilient approach
✔ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✔ The ability to adapt to changing situations and individual pupil needs
✔ A genuine passion for supporting children with complex learning needs
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working within a SEND setting is highly desirable
-
Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, PMLD or additional learning difficulties
-
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
-
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
