Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: Monday 13th April 2026
Salary: Dependent on experience
Experience Required: Previous relevant experience in education or learning support is essential.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Learning Support Assistant to join a successful mainstream secondary school in Blackburn. This is a full-time role starting Monday 13th April 2026, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and inclusion staff, delivering targeted support within the classroom, providing small-group interventions, and assisting with the general day‑to‑day needs of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored learning support to students with a range of needs.
- Assist teaching staff in preparing resources and delivering high‑quality learning experiences.
- Support positive behaviour management in line with school policies.
- Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning.
- Contribute to the overall well‑being, safeguarding, and progress of students.
- Maintain accurate records of support and student progress where required.
About You
Applicants must have previous relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will be:
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education.
- Confident in building positive relationships with students and staff.
- Able to follow guidance while using initiative when needed.
- Organised, reliable, and professional at all times.
- Knowledgeable about SEND support strategies (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
