Learning Support Assistant

Full time

Temporary position (potential to become permanent for the right educator)

Primary school based in Andover

£90 a day

Start date: ASAP

We are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated Primary School based in Andover to work on a full time, temporary basis with the view to go permanent for the right individual. You will be supporting KS1 and KS2 students with additional needs so experience in SEN is essential for this role.

Requirements:

  • An enhanced child only DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one.
  • Contact references covering the last 24 months and any schools worked at in the last 10 years.
  • An up-to-date CV outlining career history.
  • Proof of ID and two proofs of address.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Recent successful experience as an LSA within a primary setting or working with SEN children.
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) grade C or above.
  • A clear understanding of assessment for learning in order to feedback and respond effectively to pupil learning.
  • Excellent positive behaviour management skills.
  • A positive attitude and be flexible to the demands of the role and the needs of the school.
  • The skills to work independently and with initiative.   
  • The ability to plan and evaluate pupils' progress.
  • Acute self-awareness, emotional intelligence and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and confidentiality

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
