Full-time Learning Mentor role available for an immediate start.

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a secondary academy in Bolton aiding them in the recruitment of a Learning Mentor to join their staff team following the October half term break.

Our client academy has recognised a staffing gap for a Learning Mentor, due to many pupils requiring additional support. Therefore, our partner academy are in need of extra staff to guarantee these students are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom.

  • Full-time Learning Mentor role available for an immediate start until the Christmas break, with the possibility of an extension depending on success.
  • Supporting students aged 11-16, ranging in levels of learning ability.
  • Earn up to GBP350 per week, depending on experience.
  • Must have previous experience with learning difficulties or transferrable skills for this role.
  • Opportunity to work in a large Secondary academy in Bolton with excellent links to CPD Training.

The successful Learning Mentor will have a number of roles and responsibilities including:

  • Monitoring pupils’ progress and reporting back to senior teachers.
  • Planning and delivering intervention sessions to aid pupils’ development.
  • Providing additional support for a small group of students in a variety of subjects such as English and Maths.
  • Supporting students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.
  • Working alongside the class teacher supporting students aged 11-16.

Application Requirements

  • Must have experience of working with individuals who have learning or behavioural difficulties.
  • Must be familiar with students that are known to show challenging behaviour alongside their learning difficulties or have transferrable skills in this area.

Our client school is based in Bolton and can be accessed via the M60 and A580 from surrounding areas of Greater Manchester for those who have their own transportation. For non-drivers, there are several forms of public transport with links to areas such as Bury, Salford and central Manchester.
