Learning Assistant

We are looking for a Learning Assistant to work within a Behaviour and Nurture unit in the Swadlincote area.

The School is an independent specialist day and residential school for young people aged 8 to 19 years with severe learning disabilities, autism and associated challenging behaviour. Many of our students also have mental health and therapy needs.

Students have personalised and individualized programmes, designed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support the young person to make progress, develop skills and engage socially with others.

The ideal candidate: 

• Expereince with a range of SEN 
• Knowledge of Makaton and PECs 
• Able to work with students with very challenging behaviour 
• Nurturing yet firm approach 
• Available 5 days a week

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
