Lead Practitioner of Science - Head of Science

If you're a high performing and experienced Science Teacher looking for the next step in your career this role could be for you! Equally if you're already an outstanding Lead Practitioner with a proven track record then we want to hear from you!

You will have the opportunity to inspire others within your Department, helping colleagues to develop and improve their practise for the betterment of the School and the Students it serves. You will keep a hand in with teaching, whilst being a key driver in the progress of the Department in your School and . You will embody the School's ethos for the delivery of outstanding teaching.

The Academy Trust put a huge emphasis on the sharing of best practise, and work collaboratively on this. The Trust realise the importance of effective training and development, and you will be both subject to this programme and play a role in delivering it to colleagues within your jurisdiction. In this role you will enjoy a supportive team and learning environment, as well as the opportunity to make a difference. The School is judged as "Outstanding" by Ofsted, and you will be committed to maintaining this and driving attainment.

Person Specification, you are;

  • An outstanding Science Specialist
  • Able to inspire and motivate others
  • A highly effective communicator, able to listen and problem solver well in equal measure
  • Qualified with UK QTS, or comparative Overseas Qualification
  • A teacher of Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to KS4, and able to deliver at least one of those Subjects up to KS5
