LE15 Behaviour Support Role

We are currently looking for experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants to work within a PRU environment that focuses on turning around the lives of their students. This is for an immediate start and will continue for the rest of the academic year if successful.

About the role:

If you thrive off a challenge and have a persevering personality, this role is ideal for you. The School is based in Leicestershire and works solely with those that cannot engage in mainstream education due to severe and complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. This role truly gives you the opportunity to turn around the lives of our next generation for the better. This role is for an immediate start and will continue for the rest of the academic year. You are expected to have at least 6 months experience within a School setting, preferable secondary however, if you have primary experience you will be considered.

The ideal candidate:

To be considered a real asset to the school, you must demonstrate:

  • Experience and knowledge within SEN, predominantly with those that suffer from SEMH
  • Ability to provide 1:1 and small group support work
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A Genuine passion for Education
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
  • An energetic and enthusiastic 'can do' attitude about learning
  • Both a friendly and professional manner

All students at the school have severe and complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties, SEMH, EBSD and statements of special educational need. Many have been excluded from other schools or are at risk of permanent exclusion.

The school environment provides a safe and secure feel. They provide one to one day-time support and a structured learning environment and, despite their challenging personal circumstances, their students make tremendous progress.
