A friendly and welcoming mainstream primary school in Skelmersdale is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Year 4 team from 19th October.

This opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of a valued member of staff and offers the successful candidate the chance to secure a permanent position within the school following an initial temporary period.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced class teacher and supportive staff team, you will provide general academic support within a Year 4 classroom. The role will involve helping pupils access learning, reinforcing classroom expectations, supporting pupil progress, and contributing to a positive and engaging learning environment.

The school prides itself on maintaining high standards while placing equal importance on the wellbeing and development of its children.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Have previous classroom experience within a primary school setting (essential)
• Hold a Teaching Assistant Level 2, Childcare Level 2, or equivalent qualification (essential)
• Be academically confident and able to support learning across the primary curriculum
• Be firm but fair, maintaining consistently high expectations of pupils
• Have the confidence to uphold school values and classroom standards
• Possess a positive attitude and good sense of humour
• Be able to build strong relationships with children, staff and parents
• Enjoy working collaboratively as part of an experienced and supportive team
• Have a genuine passion for helping local children achieve their potential both academically and personally
