EYFS Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)
Location: FY8, Lancashire
Hours: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive rates of pay, dependent on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in an Early Years setting within a welcoming primary school in the FY8 area.
This rewarding role involves providing tailored support to a child who is selectively mute, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social interactions, and build confidence within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Support the child with their learning, social, emotional, and communication needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement support strategies.
- Encourage engagement and participation in EYFS activities.
- Assist with personal care requirements in a dignified, respectful, and supportive manner.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship to promote the child's wellbeing and development.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to the wider school team.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with children in EYFS or primary settings.
- Have experience supporting children with additional needs, including communication difficulties.
- Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable in their approach.
- Be comfortable providing personal care support when required.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
