Teaching Assistant - Full Academic Year Opportunity | Blackburn

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a welcoming primary school? We are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream primary school in Blackburn for the full academic year.

This varied role offers the opportunity to make a real impact across the school day, providing SEND support, delivering targeted Maths and English interventions, and assisting with general classroom activities to help pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality support to pupils with additional learning needs and SEND requirements
Deliver small group and one-to-one Maths and English interventions
Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Classroom Assistant
Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Patient, adaptable and proactive approach
Enhanced DBS Certificate or willingness to obtain one
