1:1 Teaching Assistant Needed in Ormskirk School.

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work alongside a young boy in their Y5 Class who has recently been diagnosed with Autism. To apply for this role you must hold a relevant Level 2+ qualification.

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a one form entry Primary School located in Ormskirk, the school is easily accessible from the motorway and would suite a candidate either living in Skelmersdale or surrounding areas such as Wigan, Skelmersdale, Burscough, Chorley and Leyland.

I have spoken with the Headteacher of this school today who has expressed she is looking for nothing less than an 'inspirational' Teaching Assistant who is committed to maximising attainment in the classroom. The Headteacher is looking for a practitioner to start on the 28th January on a full time basis working 1:1 alongside a young boy in Y5 who has recently been diagnosed with Autism. The working hours for this role are 8:40-15:15 and the hourly rate is competitive with other roles of this nature starting from £9 per hour.

This particular child urgently needs support as he is working at below 'expected age related levels' he needs extra support to further engage him into the classroom setting socially and academically. The pupil struggles to socialise with other children and needs different strategies implemented in order to build self confidence and creative resources would need to be adapted to suite his needs. He is high attaining in Maths however he is falling behind in English and this support would be crucial due to the looming KS2 SATs.

The school is located in the Ormskirk area and the majority of children who arrive in school are working in line with age expectations. The role is to start on 28th January and will run until the end of the financial year with the view to extend.

Please don't hesitate to contact Chloe Gardiner if you are interested in the above role, or equally so, please feel free to pass on our details if you have any friends or family members who would be suitable. Teaching Personnel are the largest Education Staffing agency in the UK and hold an excellent reputation in the local area. We currently have a number of opportunities across Lancashire for both Teachers and Teaching Assistants I can be contacted in the office on 01772 842154 or by email If you are still unsure… to hear what our staff say about us please Google 'Teaching Personnel Preston' to view our recent reviews!
