KS2 Teacher - Portsmouth

 

Our Hampshire SEN Branch is currently working exclusively with an outstanding provision in the Portsmouth area and we are looking for experienced KS2 Teachers to join our growing team this year. The position is to work with children who have various learning difficulties and are working through specialised curriculum.

The school caters for pupils ages 7 - 11 with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) whose needs are unable to be met in mainstream school. Due to this, class sizes are much smaller and there is a higher number of support staff on hand. They are looking for an experienced teacher to teach a group of 8 pupils with complex SEMH needs. Due to this, they require someone who ideally has had previous experience of working in a similar setting, or enjoys working in a challenging environment. You need to be empathetic, have the ability to build strong relationships and have strong behaviour management skills.

The successful KS2 Teacher will:

  • Creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development and pupils’ learning and development
  • Have good organisational skills with high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • Have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents and students
  • Good classroom management skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Effectively challenge pupils to achieve, using a range of engaging methods

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
