I am looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant for a 2 form entry primary school in Kingston Upon Thames, SW London, supporting a young boy going in to year 2. The school itself is large and offers on site parking, the school have fantastic transport links and have state of the art facilities. The school itself has an excellent ethos, finding the perfect balance between independence, freedom and creating a well disciplined, high achieving environment.
This particular role will be to work with a young boy with Autism on a 1-1 basis. The pupil can sometimes become agitated and restless within the classroom and therefore needs someone to support him who can learn to understand his triggers, the student spends a lot of time outside the class so the school want someone to be proactive and take control of any situation that may pop up. You will need to be able to develop ideas of activities to work through with this pupil so that he can learn in his own way.
To be considered for this role you must hit the following criteria;
- Have at least 1 years school based experience.
- Worked with children with SEN, in particular Autism.
- Patient and calming presence.
- Implement behaviour management techniques.
- Ability to set tasks and objectives.
