Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant
- Full-time (8.45am-3.15pm)

- £10.70 - £12.50 per hour

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a mainstream Primary School within the Great Harwood (BB6) area. The school are currently seeking a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis.
As a Teaching Assistant in this school, you would be welcomed by an experienced and friendly Senior Leadership Team who are all too happy to help the successful candidate settle into their new role and school. The Head Teacher, is approachable and places great importance upon the professional development of her staff and their happiness within the school.
High standards of behaviour are of great importance across the school; therefore, the successful candidate must be confident in implementing effective behavioural strategies and upholding the school ethos. Experience across Key Stage 1 is essential, as is a sound knowledge of the National Curriculum. As an individual, the appointed candidate must hold a genuine passion for education and be of a positive, enthusiastic, and nurturing nature.
In this role, you would be required to:
- Assist the class teacher with the delivery of lessons
- Work across both classes (approx. 28 pupils) to encourage a positive attitude to learning
- Assist in the management of behaviour
- Work with children on a 1:1 basis to provide extra support where needed, specifically targeting maths, reading, and writing abilities
To be successful, the candidate must:
- Be NQTS or an experienced teacher
- CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or QTS (as the school are looking to consider either a teaching assistant or teacher for the role)
- Have minimum grade C in English & Maths at GCSE (or equivalent)
- Experience using Letters and Sounds, Jolly Phonics or Read Write Inc. Phonics schemes
- Experience supporting children within a Primary School setting.
- Demonstrate experience of addressing gaps in learning due to school closures
- Experience across KS1 setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
