Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant

- Part- time, Monday to Friday
- Competitive rates, £12.90 - £13.50

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a ‘Good’ Primary School in Burnley, East Lancashire to appoint a full- time key stage 1 Teaching Assistant. The role is to commence in early September on an initially temporary basis, with the view to be made permanent.
As a Teaching Assistant in this school, you would be welcomed by an experienced and friendly team who are all too happy to help the successful candidate settle into their new role and school. The Head Teacher, whom I have been contacted by is approachable and places great importance upon the professional development of her staff and their happiness in school. The school itself boasts a range of fantastic facilities, including a recently renovated IT suite, state of the art science facilities and a designated forest school area.
In this role, you would be required to:
- Assist the class teacher with the delivery of lessons
- Work across both classes (approx. 28 pupils) to encourage a positive attitude to learning
- Assist in the management of behaviour
- Work with children on a 1:1 basis to provide extra support where needed, specifically targeting maths, reading, and writing abilities
High standards of behaviour are of paramount importance across the school; therefore, the successful candidate must be confident in implementing effective behavioural strategies. Experience across Key Stage 1 is essential, as is a sound knowledge of the National Curriculum. As an individual, the appointed candidate must hold a genuine passion for education and be of a positive, enthusiastic, and nurturing nature.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
