A small secondary school in the Stockport area is looking for an IT teacher to join them for the Summer term. They are looking for a confident and qualified teacher of IT as a result of one of their teachers having to leave due to relocation down South. The school is a good school where students are engaged in their learning and enjoy IT, given the state of the art facilities and latest technologies.

There are interactive whiteboards in all classrooms so IT is second nature within the school so when it comes to the students immersing themselves in the subject, they are particularly knowledge thirsty. The successful teacher of IT will be teaching KS3 only for the final term.

Highlights of this teaching position:

  • Full time IT teaching position starting Monday 16th April (after Easter break)
  • Duration: Final term (1 term) in the first instance
  • Fantastic facilities with the most up-to-date modern technology at the disposal of the IT teacher

The successful IT teacher will be teaching year 7 to year 9 only with the Head of IT having advised what some of the curriculum may include:

  • Year 7 - modules on digital literacy, how to stay safe online and start to investigate basic programming.
  • Year 8 - digital gaming, including coding. Explore operating systems and application software and touch on Python programming.
  • Year 9 - build on Python programming skills and learn how networks work

The successful IT teacher should therefore have familiarity with the above and be able to touch on all aspects of the curriculum.

The school is located in the Stockport area, very easily accessible from the surrounding areas with direct links from the centre of Manchester and the centre of Stockport. For those driving, the M60 is nearby as well as the A34 and A6.

If you are interested in this position, then apply now with your latest CV for immediate consideration with the school looking to meet with shortlisted teachers as soon as possible.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
