Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant passionate about helping children achieve a greater depth in reading, writing and maths?

If so then this is the perfect opportunity for you. The position will start in October

A client school of mine in Denton (M34) is looking for Teaching Assistants to work across all year groups. The school is a short bus ride away from Piccadilly Manchester You will be carrying out Math's and Literacy interventions in order to raise levels of progress and attainment. The school is a larger than average sized primary school and is Ofsted rated 'Good'. All members of the school community work hard to ensure that children receive exceptional teaching and achieve the best possible outcomes. The school aims to improve the use of Kagan structures across the school. Children are engaged through the creative curriculum. Talent is promoted and the school provides activities to develop self esteem and confidence. Treating children with respect and kindness is at the heart of everything the school does.

Job description

Under the direction of the class teacher you will be working with the children who have been identified as needing extra class support and interventions. In the morning you will be working with small groups of lower ability children in EYFS and in the afternoons you will be working with children across KS2 focusing on problem solving activities, inference work and to get more children editing writing to include greater depth statements.

Key things:

  • Relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS, KS1 and KS2 curriculum
  • Works well within a team
  • Is available on a long term/ full time basis
  • Excellent Maths and Literacy skills
  • Knowledge of Kagan learning approaches would be advantageous
