Teaching Personnel are currently working with numerous partner Primary Schools across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan that are seeking Intervention Specialists on both a full-time and part-time basis. If you are someone with experience running intervention groups or tutoring, then please read on!

The role:

Coronavirus has had a negative impact on pupils’ learning experience, meaning that many are behind in their studies. Owing to recent government funding to aid pupil catch up, many partner schools of Teaching Personnel are seeking individuals that can run specialised intervention groups to support such pupils.

As an Intervention Specialist, you would run intervention groups throughout the school day, making a log of the children’s progress. Whilst there is a focus on numeracy and literacy, you will be expected to lend support wherever needed in every subject.

Desirable candidates will have:

• Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
• Experience running intervention groups
• Subject specialist knowledge (through tutoring, or qualifications such as a degree)
• Experience implementing schemes such as Jolly Phonics, Read Write Ink, Big Maths etc.
• A flexible approach to work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
