HLTA - Rochdale - Start Date after Easter

A Rochdale (OL11) based Primary School is looking for an experienced HLTA to join their team and work across Key Stage 2 for the remainder of the academic year.

About the Role:

  • Full time HLTA post, starting after Easter
  • Supporting children in Year 5 in the mornings
  • PPA cover for all year groups in the afternoon
  • Join a school with career and professional development opportunities.
  • The school would like someone with a HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Competitive pay rates starting £60-£70 a day dependant on experience.

This school has been rated as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and has established a 'culture of excellence' throughout. The children are currently meeting the National Average in regards to Reading, Writing and also Maths and consistently work to a high standard. The teaching throughout the school is good, due to highly motivated teachers. The teachers create engaging lessons which cater to their student's individual needs. The children are very well behaved and have a lot of respect for staff and also each other.

The Year 5 class in particular, has outstanding behaviour and is very polite and respectful to visitors. There are 31 children in the class who are supported by a warm and friendly teaching assistant. They enjoy going into school and enjoy the work that they are given.

The school is looking for somebody who is hard-working, passionate about raising pupil's attainment and works well in their friendly, sociable team. This role is a great opportunity to work with a supportive, efficient, welcoming team, while developing excellent practice from outstanding teaching. The Successful HLTA will be supporting children in Year 5 in the mornings and then covering PPA in all year groups in the afternoon. The successful candidate needs to be confident and have experience working with students in all key stages.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Lead full class teaching using the teachers planning.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons.
  • Be responsible for providing support for students and class teachers.
