Higher Level Teaching Assistant - HLTA

Teaching Personnel are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with children and young people with SEMH and challenging behaviours. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of working with children who have additional needs and challenging behaviours, and who works with humour, enthusiasm, energy, adaptability and kindness.

Candidates interested in these roles must have:

  • Minimum of 2 x A Level, NQT/BTEC level 3
  • GCSE English and Maths grade C and above
  • HLTA qualification
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Ability to lead groups independently
  • Full UK driving licence with access to their own vehicle
  • Great references

We are working with an Academy trust that facilitates learning for pupils who have been removed from mainstream education. The role is supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis ensuring they are engaged with their learning and extra curricular activities. The pupils are unable to follow mainstream education and therefore have timetables suited to their needs and abilities.

All candidates who work with Teaching Personnel is required a DBS in child workforce which is registered on the update service. If you do not have a current DBS then do not worry as we can support you through the process.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
