Role Purpose:
As a qualified High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a vital role in supporting both teaching and learning across the school, with a particular focus on pupils with SEND. You will work closely with teachers and specialists to help deliver personalised learning experiences and promote pupil wellbeing.

Key Duties:

• Independently lead small group or one-to-one sessions targeting SEND pupil progress.

• Assist in developing and adapting lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs.

• Implement behaviour support plans and promote positive behaviour through effective strategies.

• Contribute to assessment by observing, recording, and reporting on pupil development.

• Facilitate transitions and daily routines to support pupils’ emotional security and learning readiness.

• Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to implement IEPs and other intervention plans.

• Support whole-class teaching activities when required, taking on teaching responsibilities under guidance.

• Supervise pupils safely during breaks, lunchtimes, and off-site activities.

• Participate actively in staff meetings, training, and school events to support the wider school community.

Candidate Profile:

• HLTA qualification is essential.

• Experience supporting SEND pupils within the UK education system.

• Confident in delivering structured teaching activities and managing challenging behaviour.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise effectively with staff, pupils, and parents.

• Empathetic, patient, adaptable, and proactive in problem-solving.

• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to apply via Teaching Personnel.
