Role Purpose:
As a qualified High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a vital role in supporting both teaching and learning across the school, with a particular focus on pupils with SEND. You will work closely with teachers and specialists to help deliver personalised learning experiences and promote pupil wellbeing.
Key Duties:

Independently lead small group or one-to-one sessions targeting SEND pupil progress.

Assist in developing and adapting lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs.

Implement behaviour support plans and promote positive behaviour through effective strategies.
-
Contribute to assessment by observing, recording, and reporting on pupil development.
-
Facilitate transitions and daily routines to support pupils’ emotional security and learning readiness.
-
Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to implement IEPs and other intervention plans.
-
Support whole-class teaching activities when required, taking on teaching responsibilities under guidance.
-
Supervise pupils safely during breaks, lunchtimes, and off-site activities.
-
Participate actively in staff meetings, training, and school events to support the wider school community.
Candidate Profile:
-
HLTA qualification is essential.
-
Experience supporting SEND pupils within the UK education system.
-
Confident in delivering structured teaching activities and managing challenging behaviour.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise effectively with staff, pupils, and parents.
-
Empathetic, patient, adaptable, and proactive in problem-solving.
-
Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to apply via Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
