HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANST
Teaching Personnel have seen a significant increase in the demand for Higher Level Teaching Assistants predominantly in the Chesterfield and Sheffield before the lockdown and will be expecting this to continue in September for the start of the new school year.
Are you an existing HLTA and are looking for a change in school?
Are you working as Teaching Assistant and have the relevant qualifications to work as a HLTA furthering your career in education, taking it to the next step towards qualified teacher status?
Are you an aspiring teacher who needs additional classroom experience in preparation for teacher training?
You may already be an experienced HLTA in which case we would certainly be interested in speaking to you in further detail. However if you have plenty of school based experience with relevant qualifications within the education sector you would also be of interest.
We are also keen to speak to overseas trained teachers who are looking to obtain UK QTS and are in search of additional school based experience to familiarise themselves with the UK curriculum. You may also be an NQT who wants to start out working after graduation as a HLTA in order to visit a number of different schools before committing to a longer term NQT year placement.
The right candidate would be expected to:
- Provide general classroom support and class teacher support
- Have a good overall knowledge in a number of year groups and key stages with the ability to adapt on a daily basis to best suit the requirements of the school
- Cover classes delivering pre planned work during PPA time
- Attend regular staff training and CPD in order to be familiar with the current curriculum and assessment
If you have any queries on future positions or would like to discuss your current position then please call the office on 0114 241 3340 or e-mail james.emmott@teachingpersonnel.com.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
