Teaching Personnel are currently working with a successful school in Basingstoke who are currently looking for a History teacher to join them in September for a maternity cover position. This is a full time fixed term position in the history department with usual responsibilities, paid weekly at between £550 and £750 a week dependant on ability, qualification and experience. This roll encompasses all the usual responsibilities of a Teacher and will also include a tutor group whom you will be responsible for, encouraging them with extra curricular activities and talking to them about topical PSHE issues in the global news.
The school are currently requires improvement like the majority of Basingstoke schools however they are making leaps and bounds to improve themselves with new actions being taken consistently and those ideas and schemes that work are becoming embedded in the ethos and understanding of the schools overall aura. Safeguarding and behaviour are two major area which have improved in recent years, with the pupils enjoying learning now and increasingly paying more and more attention in class.
While not the easiest school in the country to teach in, the school has plenty of character and even more characters, you'll never have a boring day.
