Job description

Are you a passionate and knowledgeable History teacher looking for your next role in September? A welcoming and well-respected secondary school in Salford is seeking a qualified History Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from the start of the new academic year.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach Key Stage 3 and 4 History to engaged learners in a supportive environment that values both academic achievement and personal development.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured History lessons in line with the national curriculum, while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You will plan and prepare schemes of work, assess and track pupil progress, and implement effective behaviour management strategies to support learning. In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the wider school community, including involvement in extra-curricular activities and departmental development. Competitive weekly pay (based on experience and MPS)

Requirements:

  • UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential

  • Experience teaching History at secondary level in UK schools

  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to motivate and inspire pupils

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A valid DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Able to provide professional references to cover recent teaching experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
