Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Job description

A Secondary Pupil Referral Unit are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work within a challenging setting. The school caters for students who are aged between 14-16 who need support through education due to academic and social barriers . Most of the pupils who the Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be supporting have individual EHCP's and have ADHD.

Based at the key stage 4 site, you will be deployed to support and engage pupils throughout school, many of whom have significant barriers to learning. Previous experience of working in an education setting with pupils in a supporting role is essential, as well as having the skills to contribute towards a positive learning culture which promotes success and personal well-being.

This is supply work and you will ideally have your own transport, if not be able to use public transport and commute to schools from a morning call.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
